These past few days we have been working with hands-on experiments that simulate rapid changes to the Earth's surface. We are studying volcanoes, earthquakes, landslides, and tsunamis. Did you know that the majority of the Earth's volcanoes are located on the ocean floor? Also, you can feel an earthquake up to 1,000 miles away from its epicenter!
We are learning what occurs through these rapid changes, why it's important to look at and observe models of Earth's landforms, how rapid changes to the Earth's surface can be helpful/harmful, and who studies these rapid changes and why it's so important for us to understand how the Earth works. We are having so much fun in 3rd grade Science. We hope you join us soon!
