Continued Support for Community Christmas - Stop by One of Our Local Churches!
We hope that this Thanksgiving Break is filled with joy, peace, and fun with family and friends. One thing we’re thankful for at Community ISD is the overwhelming support you’ve shown this year in our Community Christmas program. A record-breaking 474 students needed your help to receive gifts on Christmas Day, and we are overjoyed to announce that, with the help of our local churches, all 474 kids are now sponsored!
That said, if you still want to help the students of Brave Nation, there are plenty of ways that you can partner with us! First, please go to one of the following churches and pick up a Community Christmas student there. You DO NOT have to be a member of the church to participate.
Please be aware of holiday hours for our local churches as well. We suggest calling before stopping by.
First Baptist Church Lavon - (972) 843-3788
First Assembly of Lavon - (972) 843-3788
Community United Methodist Church - (972) 843-3400
Lone Star Cowboy Church - (972) 763-5722
Faith Family Church - (469) 772-0447
FBC Josephine - (972) 843-8192
If you pick up a Community Christmas student from one of these churches, please make sure to bring the gifts back to the church you picked up from, and to follow their instructions.
Second, you can contribute to one of our campus food drives, which will benefit our Community Christmas students. All four campuses will be collecting non-perishable items all next week that will be sorted into boxes for our Community Christmas families. The goal is to provide a week’s worth of food for each family.
Finally, if you have contributed to Community Christmas and have donated to the food drives and still want to help, please contact the Community Education Foundation or your campus Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). These organizations directly support our teachers, who directly support our students.
Thank you so much for your support and kindness. We are so proud that Community is more than just the name of this school district; it represents who we are as Brave Nation!
