BLUE Certified Teachers

Last week, Chief Learning Officer Christi Farish and the CISD Curriculum and Instruction team announced seven CISD educators as 2018-19 BLUE Certified Teachers. In order to become BLUE Certified, the teacher must be nominated by a principal and undergo a series of classroom observations by the C&I Team. Based on these observations, and their demonstrated commitment to excellence in the classroom, the following teachers have received the distinction of becoming BLUE Certified:

Alisa Hale - NeSmith Elementary, 5th Grade
Lori Granger - McClendon Elementary, 1st Grade
Maria Hernandez - McClendon Elementary, 2nd Grade Bilingual
Natalie Whitt - McClendon Elementary, 4th Grade
Elyse Berta - McClendon Elementary, 5th Grade
Patricia Zingg- McClendon Elementary School, 3rd Grade Bilingual
Justine Deets - Edge Middle School, 7th/8th Grade Science

This is the 2nd year for the BLUE Certified program which recognizes excellence in teaching. A BLUE Certified teacher must have a classroom environment that is inviting and designed to encourage students learning and collaboration. These BLUE Certified teachers truly believe in the success of each child and set high expectations for every student. These teachers have demonstrated a commitment to planning ensuring that each classroom learning experience follows not only follows state standards, but is also fun and engaging for every Brave. These BLUE Certified teachers go above and beyond to support their students both inside and outside the classroom. BLUE certified teachers will be recognized at the May CISD School Board meeting for their commitment to excellence and will receive a special BLUE Certified jacket.
