Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Westfall began his education career in 2000 at Richardson Junior High in Richardson ISD. After spending two years at Frisco ISD’s Pioneer Heritage Middle School as an 8th grade literature teacher and basketball coach, he returned to Richardson ISD in 2004 where he taught 8th graders at Richardson West Junior High Technology Magnet until 2010. He received the Richardson West Junior High PTA Distinguished Service Award in 2007-08.
Taking on a campus leadership role in 2010-11, Mr. Westfall was named RISD Rookie Administrator of the Year as the assistant principal at Berkner High School. For the past seven years he has served as the assistant principal and magnet principal at Richardson High School. In 2017, he received the RISD Richardson High School Carolyn Bukhair Servant Leadership Award.
When he asked what he is most looking forward to as the new principal at Community HS, Westfall said "I'm excited about being a part of a district that emphasizes personal relationships and the importance of educating the WHOLE kid,” He added, “I hope to maintain the small-town feel of CISD, while providing even more real-world opportunities and experiences for life after CHS."
A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Westfall earned his master’s in educational administration from the University of North Texas. He is married to Sonya, a teacher in Frisco ISD, and they have three children, Cori (14), Carter (9), and Camryn (7).
