Student Registration

Yes! Every Community ISD returning student MUST have their returning registration completed before they are able to attend school each year.  Please sign in to your Family Access Portal in Skyward to complete your student's returning student registration form.

This year, the only required document to upload for returning students is a proof of residency (unless they have additional required tiles to complete). This is required to complete and submit the online returning student registration.

Proof of Residency

A utility bill with a date, within a month of enrollment, must be provided to the school the student is zoned to attend to prove residency in the attendance zone.  In accordance with the Texas Education Agency, residency is not defined by an address on a driver’s license, a signature on a lease, or the address on a utility bill. These are indicators that may expedite verifying residency. Please note that it is a criminal offense to present false information to enroll a student in public school. Falsifying, altering, or tampering with government documents are offenses subject to prosecution as a misdemeanor or felony under Penal Code 37.02 and 37.10. Presentation of false information or neglecting to notify the District of a change of address that results in lack of proof of residency in the District will cause immediate withdrawal from school. Proof of residency documentation is subject to review and investigation by the District. Additional documentation, investigation, and possibly a home visit may be required by the District to verify residency.

• Gas
• Trash/recycling
• Internet/cable
• Landline phone
• Mortgage Statement
• Lease or building agreement/deed/land contract for future moves into the district (accepted up to 60 days of move in date). After 60 days, a current utility bill will be required.

Once you have logged in to the parent portal and complete online registration for the returning student you will have the ability to add new students and contacts for this school year.

There will be some documents that are required to upload in order to complete and submit the new student enrollment form. The documents required to be uploaded are: parent/guardian's driver's license, proof of residency, and student shot record. Other documents, including birth certificate, social security card, report cards, etc., may be brought or emailed to the District Enrollment Center, or if you are coming from a Texas school, those documents will be sent via the Texas Records Exchange from their previous school. Out of state new students must provide those documents either by uploading them online in the enrollment form, or by bringing a copy up to the District Enrollment Center.

If you are having issues with uploading documents from your computer or you do not have a computer or scanner, you can complete online registration from a smartphone and upload a picture of the required documents. Alternatively, you can make an appointment with your child's campus, where someone can help you upload the documents.
