Apply for Meal Benefits

Before applying on line:  If you received a letter from the school saying that your children were automatically approved (directly certified) for free meals for the current school year because someone in your household participates in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), then you do not need to submit an application, unless a sibling in the household was not listed on the letter, then call us.

Meal applications are also available at the schools or at the Child Nutrition Office at the Terry Pope Administration Building - 611 FM 1138 North, Nevada, TX. 75173. Apply any time during the school year as household finances change.  If approved for Free or Reduced meals the student is eligible for both breakfast and lunch at the Free or Reduced price.

The Community ISD Child Nutrition Department is committed to providing quality nutritious meals while meeting state and federal government guidelines. Our goal is to ensure that all students, staff and community partners have a customer friendly, clean and safe environment in which to enjoy nutritious meals. Working with district departments to build relationships and partnerships to enhance each student’s success here at Community ISD.

Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. De conformidad con la Ley Federal de Derechos Civiles y los reglamentos y políticas de derechos civiles del Departamento de Agricultura de los EE. UU.
