Mrs. Melanie Cottongame
On Monday, May 2, 2022, Community ISD's Board of Trustees unanimously approved the hiring of Melanie Cottongame as the Director of Student Accounting and Compliance for Brave Nation, effective July 1, 2022.
Mrs. Cottongame has over a decade of education experience including time as a principal, assistant principal, elementary bilingual teacher, bilingual education coordinator, and in her current role as director. She has spent the past several years in Brave Nation, including serving as the principal and assistant principal of McClendon Elementary.
Mrs. Cottongame holds a Bachelors in EC-4 Bilingual Education from Texas A&M-Commerce, a Masters in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin, and teaching and principal certifications. She is married to Brian Cottongame, and the couple has two children, Rylie and Levi, who attend Community ISD.
