Mrs. Stefanie Cooper

I am a born and raised North Texan and PROUD of it! I attended a small school district west of the DFW area that at the time was much like Community ISD. Friday nights not ONE person was at home, but they all could be found at the football stadium. After high school I attended Kilgore College on a dance scholarship and then went on to graduate from Texas State University-San Marcos in 2004 with a Bachelors of Science in Dance Education.

My first teaching position was in Irving ISD at MacArthur High School where I served as the Dance Instructor and Cardette Dance Director.  My husband and I were married in December of 2005, and relocated to the Sachse area. In 2005 I began teaching at R.C. Clark High School in Plano ISD as well as Plano East Senior High.  During this time I was honored to teach PE & PE Dance as well as direct the Cougarettes (JV) and Golden Girls (Varsity) dance teams. My 5 years in Plano were a whirlwind and are filled with such precious memories that included having my first son, who is joining the Brave Nation. Frisco ISD became home in 2009 where I was privileged to open Heritage High School and lay the foundation of the dance program for one year.

The last 5 school years have been spent teaching virtually at Texas Virtual Academy.  Through this position I rediscovered my love for reaching a richly diverse group of students and pouring belief and support in to students who had been discouraged through life's journey.  During my first year with TXVA High School I welcomed my middle son to the world, who will also be joining the Brave Nation in the SECOND GRADE! Our family was made complete by the arrival of ANOTHER son in 2015.

Through life experience, parenting school aged children of my own, and 12 years of working with a multitude of students, I have adjusted what I would typically to do in the classroom to reflect how I would want someone to teach and treat my own child. I subscribe to the "loving them through it" belief and know that it will be an incredible year of exponential growth and FUN! Together we will SOAR!
