My Personal Brief Bio
I was born in Monterrey, Mexico. My family immigrated to northern Indiana when I was three years old. I attended Catholic schools in Indiana, including Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, where I met my future husband, Joe. We got married six years later and left for Kansas City, Missouri, where we started our married life and had two children. We eventually moved to northern Texas where our families had also relocated and had our third child. We spent the next years raising our kids in Texas, Missouri, Virginia, and back to Texas. Our adult children are now leading successful lives with loving families. They have given us six wonderful grandchildren. We both enjoy reading books, traveling, our Chihuahua mix dog, Ricco and of course, visiting our grandkids and their parents! Life is good!
My Professional Teaching Career
My professional teaching career began in 1974 with a BS in Elementary Education in East Chicago, Indiana where I was raised since the age of three. I continued teaching from there to Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Virginia, and back to Texas. During my teaching career, I raised my three children.I've taught pre-kinder, kinder, 1st through 5th grades. I can say that pre-kinder is my favorite and most rewarding! My focus has primarily been teaching children with second language challenges. I hope to continue teaching until it's no longer fun. I do so enjoy the little ones so much, especially the pre-K class I had last year. I am so excited to continue teaching pre-kindergarten! Excited about my new class of 21 bilingual prekindergarteners for 2019-2020! This is my sixth year teaching in Community ISD.
