Ms. Shannon Minica

Hi! My name is Ms. Shannon Minica and I teach Visual Art at Community High School.  I have been with Community ISD for 32 years!  I have taught Secondary Art for 34 years.  I have a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Studio Arts with a specialization in Drawing and Painting, from UMHB.  I teach Art I, Art II: 2-D Design, and Honors Art 3. I am a practicing Artist, meaning I draw, paint, etc.. with the intent to sell to individuals who wish to purchase my work. I love working with teenagers who have an interest in art and those who want to learn how to create art, but don't quite know how to or don't think they can. I want my students to find their visual voice, if you will.  I personally enjoy drawing, painting, pyrography, typography, and mosaics.  I am a huge dog-lover, I have two myself. Both of them are Dachshunds. Fig is a Wheaten Wirehair and is 2 years old and Hazel is a Red Shorthair and is the baby at 1 year old. I am one of four children and my mother loves me more than the others. I have two brothers, I am their favorite sister and I have one sister, and again I am her favorite sister.
