I have been working at Community High School since August of 2009. All of my formal teaching experience has been at CHS, but I have been teaching and coaching for most of my life. I teach because there is nothing better than seeing a kid "get it" and I love when graduates come back to tell us how much we impacted their lives. I teach a wide variety of English Courses at CHS and previously coached Girls’ Athletics. I am also the UIL Coordinator and the Prom Coordinator. I am passionate about literature and most of my students know that I love Shakespeare, American Literature, and all things Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Tolkien.
I was born and raised in the Northwest, but moved to Texas for college. I have both a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University (Wreck 'em!) and am now pursing a PhD in English from Texas A&M Commerce. I am married to Cole and we have three beautiful children, one of whom attends McClendon.
My conference is from 1:30-3:00pm on Monday/Wednesday (Sixth Period). The best way to contact me is by email, which I check throughout the day.
My tutorial times are before school from 7:45-8:15 on Tuesday and Thursday, the first half of Mega Lunch Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and after school by request.
