Degrees and Certifications:
B.S. Elementary Education/ minor Health Education from Texas Woman's University M.Ed. Elementary Education from Texas A&M-Commerce
Hi there. I am Jennifer Engle, and I am so excited to be apart of the Brave “tribe” at NeSmith. This will be my second year in Community ISD. I will be teaching 4th grade ELAR and Social Studies (Texas History). I received my B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Health Education from Texas Woman’s University, and my M.Ed. From Texas A&M-Commerce. This will be my 32st year in the classroom. In my teaching journey, I have taught 3rd grade for six years, 4th grade for twenty-two years, and 6th grade for three years.
I have a wonderful husband who is in educational leadership at a nearby school. Together we have three remarkable “young adult” children. Arielle has graduated college with a degree in Radio, Television, Video & Film and is currently working in the film industry in Atlanta, GA. Ian is a senior at UT Arlington (one more class...Yippee!) as an accounting major and is already working in the auditing side of accounting, and Madison is a junior at Texas State University studying behavioral psychology.
Working with children on a daily basis is both a passion and a privilege. I have a heart for serving others in the school setting, home, church, and charities. I am a party coordinator for The Birthday Party Project in Dallas. Our goal is to bring joy to children experiencing homelessness through the magic of a birthday party.
Aside from teaching, I love spending time with my family. I enjoy traveling, going to cool restaurants, gardening, going on walks around my new neighborhood, grabbing a good book to read, and I love to watch musical theater.
I am looking forward to a wonderful year of learning and discovery in the classroom and getting to know the families at NeSmith.
