Mrs. Shannon Griffin

Hello, my name is Shannon Griffin, and I am glad to be a BRAVE.  This will be my first year at Edge Middle school, and 27th in the field of education.  For the 2019-2020 school year I will be teaching English Literature and Writing.  I am passionate about teaching and learning.  I hope to inspire many students this year through my love of reading and writing.  When I am not teaching I am most often with my cub scout den.  I have been in the Boy Scouts of America for 14 years.  I am an avid scouter, den leader of the year recipient, and fully trained in Woodbadge.  I have been able to offer BALOO trainings, den leader trainings, and various other classes during my tenure.

I am also a wife and mother of four.  My oldest child is serving a mission in Bogota, Colombia.  The other three are in high school, with one senior, one junior, and the last a freshman.  As a family we enjoy playing games, home repair projects, and watching movies. Since my youth I have been a traveler, reader, swimmer, and learner.  I find myself drawn to situations where I can learn more.

“ANYONE WHO STOPS LEARNING IS OLD, WHETHER AT TWENTY OR EIGHTY.” —HENRY FORD

I am available for tutorials Wednesdays and Thursdays before school from 7:45-8:15am.  Other times are by appointment only.  I can be reached through email.
