Mr. Keith Medlin
Mr. Keith Medlin was named the Director of Transportation for Community Independent School District on Monday, September 19, 2022. He brings over 20 years of experience to the district in transportation, teaching, and administration, including a previous stint as CISD Director of Transportation.
Mr. Medlin comes to Brave Nation after serving for 24 years in Mesquite ISD, including the last three years as the Assistant Director of Transportation. In his most recent role, Mr. Medlin had oversight of hiring bus drivers and monitors, led any investigations into bus accidents, assisted in the supervision and staff development of all District transportation personnel, managed student discipline with campus administrators, and helped create bus routes.
Before moving into the transportation field, Mr. Medlin served as an Assistant Principal for 13 years at several Mesquite ISD campuses including Achziger Elementary (July 2016 - June 2018), Dr. Ralph H. Poteet High School (July 2011 - June 2016), Vanston Middle School (July 2008 - June 2011), and McDonald Middle School (July 2005 - June 2008). While serving as an Assistant Principal at these campuses, Mr. Medlin oversaw student discipline, was an ARD administrator, supervised security guards, was involved in the hiring process for school staff, and administered attendance.
Mr. Medlin’s Mesquite ISD career began in October 1996 when he was hired as a teacher and coach at Kimbrough Middle School. He taught and coached there in various capacities through 2005.
Mr. Medlin is a proud, two-time graduate of Texas A&M University-Commerce. He holds a Bachelors of Science and a Masters of Education - Principal Certification. He and his wife, Pam, have been married for 30 years and counting. They are the proud parents of two children, and expecting their first grandchild in September. When not working, Mr. Medlin loves to read, fish and spend time with his family.
