Community ISD Receives 2024 NSPRA Honors

We're proud to report that the Community ISD communications department earned a pair of honors from the National School Public Relations Association.

Kindergarten Cops Academy, which stars Chief Scotty Morrison and some of our awesome students, won an Award of Excellence.

In addition, our 2023-24 academic calendar earned an Award of Merit. 

Both will be presented during NSPRA's national seminar in Seattle July 13-17.

The national honors come on the heels of statewide awards from the Texas School Public Relations Association in Februrary. TSPRA presented Gold Star recognition to Community ISD in the news/informational video category for our weekly "In the Know" podcast hosted by Superintendent Dr. Tonya Knowlton. In addition, CISD received a Silver Star for our job fair promotional video.

The Community ISD communications staff includes department director Cooper Welch, communications coordinator Chris Mycoskie, and administrative assistant Marza Leyva. The team was previously recognized in June 2023 for branding and image excellence.
