With growth continuing at a record pace across Brave Nation, Dr. Knowlton and the Community ISD Board of Trustees are launching a new task force to provide input into the District's long range facility planning. This committee is open to all adults residing in Community ISD pending a background check; and we encourage only people that can dedicate a significant portion of their time and energy to sign up. Anyone that volunteers to be a member of the Task Force will have to pass a background check before they can participate.
The Task Force for Growth will be charged with the following:
- Evaluate the use, capacity and condition of existing district facilities;
- Become educated regarding school construction finance;
- Identify the most pressing needs facing Community ISD relative to facilities and technology;
- Discuss and develop facility improvement and expansion plans to meet the identified needs;
- Evaluate the financial impact of funding for capital improvement projects;
- Engage the community in dialogue regarding long-range facilities and capital improvement needs in support of the district's strategic plan;
- Assist district-wide community outreach efforts to increase public awareness of the facilities planning process and capital improvement plans.
If you are interested in participating in this new task force, please take a moment to fill out the form below, as well as the background check linked here: https://www.communityisd.org/about-us/volunteer-background-check
NOTE - If you have already filled out a background check to volunteer at a campus or other facility for the 2024-25 school year, you do not need to fill this out again. But all volunteers must fill out a background check annually.
