CODE Keeper of the Week for September 21-25: Ellis Elementary Staff

Nomination from Alisha Johnson, Community ISD parent:

"I would like to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank the entire Ellis staff, administration, and Edge staff who were involved in the reunification process on Tuesday, 9/22, at the Athletic Facility following the unexpected gas leak near Ellis.

The entire process was extremely well organized and, from a parent’s perspective, handled flawlessly. Everyone involved remained calm, organized, communicative, and kind throughout the process. It was clear that everyone worked together seamlessly to ensure our students were safe and reunited with their families as efficiently as possible.

It was reassuring to know that, in the event of a true emergency, our children would be in such capable and caring hands.

Thank you to everyone who played a role. Your hard work, dedication, and care did not go unnoticed!"

Why are you nominating this person?

I would like to nominate the PE teacher, child nutrition team, and custodians of Ellis Elementary, and the Coaches & Trainers present at the Athletic Facility that jumped in yesterday to be runners for the reunification process. Although that was not their required role, they saw a need and jumped in which rapidly sped up our ability to connect parents with their students. I was very impressed with the CODE in action!
