Week 7 - Kyle Lang, Bowyn Bingham, and Lane Perry

CODE Keeper of the Week for September 14-18: Kyle Lang, Bowyn Bingham, and Lane Perry

Nomination from Jessica Christiansen, Community ISD parent:

"Today during the peewee football game volunteers were needed to help with the chains. The refs walked up and down the bleachers with no one wanting to offer help. Kyle, Bowyn, and Lane didn't waste any time offering to help after getting their parents' permission! They stood out there in the heat for over an hour doing a job many adults didn't want to help with. Proud of all of you!"

Why are you nominating this person?

I just wanted to take the time to say thank you, and as a board member and parent getting to watch Mrs. Orite help our kids first hand today and do something that truly exemplifies what a great teacher is about!

I watched as one of our 5th graders, Claire, got nervous before speaking to the 5th grade class for her speech, and the disappointment in her face as she walked away, which I can only understand given how overwhelming it is in front of everyone and how nervous a 10 year old would be.

I don't know what Mrs. Orite said to her, but I can only imagine the supportive words she gave her and the encouragement to help her get back in front of everyone and give that speech. It truly is moments like that where kids develop and build strength in themselves to accomplish great things!  I also loved the support of all the students as they cheered her on. All of those things come from the leadership and guidance Mrs. Orite gives these kids daily on how they should act and support each other.

My eyes were tearing up as I watched her deliver that speech and the pure joy of the moment.  So once again, THANK YOU! Mrs. Orite does things every day that are amazing, but I had the privilege today to see one of those in person, and it was awesome!

Words cannot fully describe how much I appreciate Ms. Porter at CTMS and the way she has handled the concerns I have brought to her. Since the first week of school, she has gone above and beyond to make sure both my student and I feel heard, supported, and cared for.

Ms. Porter truly listens and takes the time to understand our concerns. Even with so many irons in the fire, she never misses a beat. She follows through, finds answers, communicates, and makes sure needed meetings are scheduled.

Her drive, dedication, compassion, and character speak volumes about the kind of person and educator she is. Knowing that someone is willing to listen and genuinely work toward solutions makes such a difference for a parent and student.

Thank you, Ms. Porter, for everything you have done to address our concerns and for continuing to show that our student’s success and well-being matter. Your efforts are truly appreciated!

Why are you nominating this person?

I volunteered to pull the Senior Varsity football players in the homecoming parade-- after it was over and we parked in the front parking lot of the high school, the majority of the players got off and proceeded to head back to the athletic facility. Cash Elston, Grayson Calloway and Jackson Bradley stayed behind and began to clean the candy, wrappers and any other trash off my trailer without any prompting. They are always so respectful and were very thankful the entire event!
