Why are you nominating this person?
I'm a ninth grade student at CHS and I recently missed a bit of school. My teacher gave us an assignment that I didn't quite understand, so I went to Mrs. Elliot (knowing she was also an English teacher) and asked her If she could explain it a bit to me so I could pass the assignment. Mrs. Elliot didn't just explain it to me, she pulled up the entire lesson and gave me notes to help me understand. She took time out her day to help me with something I didn't understand even though she didn't have to. Mrs. Elliot is a very good teacher and I think she deserves more credit.

Ms. Cawthon is just simply amazing. Not only does she work with students doing intervention in the classroom, but she also goes above and beyond during other times as well. This week she helped students with spelling words while at dismissal and arrival, questioning them as they waited on busses or got here early in the morning. The students all bragged how they were so ready for their spelling for the week since Ms. Cawthon was quizzing them in the halls, gym, and cafeteria. Literally the sweetest and most caring person ever.

Why are you nominating this person?
This cheer squad (consisting of 1st and 2nd grade girls across all elementary campuses) stepped in this week to cheer on our 3rd and 4th grade BLUE team at their playoff game as our cheerleaders were at another game. It was a rainy start with questionable conditions, yet they didn't hesitate to bring their all to cheer on our boys! As a parent of one of the players, it made my heart happy to know the boys had the support they deserved and that these girls showed up. I'm proud of how they represented CISD and the community we bring!
