Why are you nominating this person?
I am nominating Mrs. Simmons for her generous spirit and dedication to supporting her fellow educators across the district. Each week, I know there will be a message in my inbox reaching out to all 5th grade science teachers with encouragement and an invitation to collaborate. She consistently shares her lesson plans, ideas, and resources to implement in their science classrooms! Many teachers have stopped to tell me what a blessing this has been to them personally. We are so lucky to have her as part of Brave Nation!

Mr. Fenton paid us a visit over at Edge one morning and asked if there was any way he could help. Our receptionist - Merritt Mueller - jokingly said if you could cover this first class that would be great. He said I'll do it! We gave him the room number and he went right to the class and relieved our secretary Ms. Castro who was covering for the class. We were all so surprised but so grateful for his gesture, it really shows his passion for Community.

Mr. Frazier demonstrates Generous as the Trait of a Brave. As a first-year teacher, he helps others, always sharing, and collaborating. He has assisted me in tackling the first couple of weeks as a new teacher. He has countless times stopped working on his tasks to assist me or show me different teaching techniques. Friday nights game against Quinlan was such an emotional game! The entire time we watched our team keep fighting and never give up. I’m nominating our football coaching staff because they demonstrated themselves with such poise and wisdom. When our players made mistakes, they pulled them to the side and had a conversation. They didn’t berate them, make a spectacle in front of the entire crowd. Our coaches demonstrated patience and persistence. As a parent of a football player with varsity level goals, it makes me excited to see where our team is headed. Thanks coaches for all you do to build our young people.

Katrina Tate - Generous
Nominator
Erin Hotchkiss
Which Trait was this person exhibiting?
Generous
Why are you nominating this person?
Katrina has demonstrated generosity by getting involved and actively helping parents and students, letting them know what is happening in class. Some may say, "It's just an email." Still, by sending this out during her busy day, she is helping build the relationships between teachers, parents, and students. These short messages strengthen the relationships between her and parents because the parents know they can rely on her to let them know what is happening in class. Parents are then better equipped to support student learning by guiding and helping their students and building relationships at home. Katrina recognizes that students still need guidance on organizing, prioritizing, and completing their work. She is helping them build the skills necessary to be successful in the world during and after their academic careers.
Nicholas Pfister - Generous
Nominator
Erin Hotchkiss
Which Trait was this person exhibiting?
Generous
Why are you nominating this person?
Nicholas Pfister understands the importance of communicating with parents. Especially with students in a band that go to different events, timing can be off from what is expected to happen. He has done a fantastic job of letting parents know the schedule and keeping them informed of any changes that may have occurred. This week, in particular, the band was later than expected due to the game going longer. This is important because parents are concerned about their student's safety, so knowing they can depend on him to keep them in the loop is essential.
