Why are you nominating this person?

Mrs. Finnie was exceptionally generous in sharing her time with my family the Friday before classes started, giving us a tour of Ellis elementary. Our two young children had a great deal of anxiety about transitioning from GISD to CISD this year, and unfortunately we missed the meet the teacher night due to a conflict. While the workload was heavy the last day prior to classes, Mrs. Finnie was so kind and courteous and showed sincere interest in ensuring our family was comfortable with the new school. She made personal connections with our children and remembered them both by name. She helped me wrap up any final items needed for the kids’ teachers and did it all with a smile. We just welcomed a newborn in July and having this kind of help and care was so very appreciated. She went above and beyond exhibiting the Passionate trait on the first day of class when she greeted both of them individually making them feel so special. Thank you, Mrs. Finnie! We appreciate you!

I cannot say enough about Dr. Amber Hope, she has made the transition from Elementary school to Middle school for my daughter so much easier.
Words cannot describe how I feel knowing she has built the biggest relationship with my daughter and she even texted this weekend to ask about her week and if there was anything she needed to do to help make it even better this week.
She went over and beyond do check on her and make her feel comfortable.

Thank you Dr. Hope for being so GENEROUS and using your TRAITS OF A BRAVE.

Why are you nominating this person?

We have had some extremely nasty experiences with sending my kids to schools in the past. We moved to Texas this year and my husband convinced me to put our kids in public school instead of homeschooling them again as it would hopefully be different. I called the school back in May and Rachel answer and took time to talk to me about the school, ease my concerns, answer my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable sending my kids to the school. Her conversation also helped ease my children's worries about returning to school as well.

Mr. Gabriel demonstrates ALL the Traits of a Brave! This week my SUV’s gear shift cable (I think that’s what he called it) stopped working. He’s worked on all our vehicles so I sent him a message hoping we could get the vehicle into the CTE Auto Shop. Not only did he drive right over to the high school band hall, but he “MacGyvered” it to work with a hair band so I could drive it over to the shop. I missed getting a picture of all of this because I was just so grateful that he would take time to help when he could have easily recommended I call a tow truck and wish me good luck. In the middle of helping, he also took the time to explain the issue. A true educator never misses a moment to teach. Mr. Gabriel THANK YOU!

Why are you nominating this person?

Here at the Brave Center, I nominate Jeremiah Lozano. He has exhibited all the Traits of a Brave while helping a fellow classmate work on a project. I picked "Passionate" because it is our trait of the week. He is "doing it right" because he is leading by example, and letting his classmate know that it is alright to need help. He showed he was "Generous" by helping out; being "Humble" because he was putting his classmate's needs first and walking them through the project. He was also being "Wise" by knowing his people(and their triggers), he recognized that his classmate was struggling and immediately stepped in to explain and walk him through each step.

Student found money in the hallway, quietly turned it in and just turned around to go back to class. Student was called down to office and on the way he had found a dollar bill, once in the office, Kaiden just handed over the bill and explained that he had just found it. Wise, humble, and generous.
