Brave of the Week - Week 1 - August 11-15, 2025 - Cheyenne Bahle

Brave of the Week - August 11-15 - Cheyenne Baile

Brave of the Week honors go to Mrs. Cheyenne Bahle of NeSmith Elementary! See Tiffany Steele's full nomination below.

Our family is starting our 2nd year in Brave nation. This year, we have a kindergartener starting at NeSmith. We reached out to Mrs. Bahle, prior to school starting due to some anxieties regarding some sensory sensitivities with our daughter. She was so profoundly responsive, loving, and kind. She communicated quickly, got others looped in to meet our daughter’s needs, then offered to let her come up to the school and tour the campus without the extra stimulation of a busy, full meet the teacher crowd. She took a good hour out of her preparation time to meet our daughter where she was at. We were greeted by a Mrs. Bahle, on bender knee to be at our daughter’s level. She then led our daughter to all the key places of the school and let her quietly experience each place. When we thanked her profusely, she simply stated that all the other stuff could wait because this is why she does the job. As parents, we are starting the year with full hearts and feeling confident! Thank you!

Thank you so much for your nomination Mrs. Steele, and congratulations to Mrs. Bahle for earning the honor!

I wanted to send a brag for Sam. He is always willing to help out and is so very humble about it. Today, in the middle of the summer, I called technolgy for help on very short notice. Sam was able to get my computer up and running so that I could teach a studenet that was coming up. He is the quiet to our chaos when it come to technology. I for one and very thankful for all he does behind the scenes!

Why are you nominating this person?

I was working at Ellis drop off on 8/12, giving high fives to every student being dropped off. I noticed a boy that stopped by the windows and started to cry. I went over to talk to him. I got his name and grade off the tag on his back pack, Kashton 1st grade, but nothing out of him. He was just whimpering. I had been talking to him for a couple minutes when an older boy, Dalton, came over and asked if he was alright. I told Dalton that Kashton was fine and that he just wasn't ready to go in. Dalton asked if it was Kashton's first day. Kashton shook his head no. Dalton said "You just need to go in and make friends. Then you will love to come to school." Then Dalton said "I like your shoes. And your backpack is awesome." Kashton slowly started moving forward. Kashton never really said a word, but Dalton talked to him the whole way while the 3 of us walked through the front door.

During morning drop off, Bianca noticed a Pre-K student having a tough morning. She went out of her way to stop and talk to the student, encouraging him and offering to walk him to class. When I asked what made her stop to help, she said, "When I see someone who needs help, I will always stop. Even if it makes me late to my own class, helping someone who needs it is more important." Bianca exhibited generosity with her time and with her kindness.
