April 20-24, 2026
Patricia Pensky
Nomination from Tiffany Steele:
"Mrs. Pensky has been an answered prayer since the first time we met her! Our daughter started school with a lot of anxiety, fear, and sensitivities. We were so worried about what our year would look like with all our daughter had been struggling with.
I am so thankful that Mrs. Pensky is our daughter's teacher. She is so very generous with her love for her students. She sees each child for their own beautiful, unique self. She is gentle and sensitive while also providing firm boundaries. When a child struggles, it is never met with anything but humble understanding and patience.
She is an excellent teacher of all subjects as well. I am blown away by all our daughter has learned this year. Our daughter often misses Mrs. Pensky on the weekends and is excited to see her every day. She says that Mrs. Pensky is funny and gives the best hugs.
As of January, I became an employee at NeSmith and I have seen proof of her heart, passion, and skill every single day. She is the best of the best!"
Don’t forget to nominate a Brave for next week's honors! We reveal our winner on the Community ISD Facebook page and here on our website every Thursday at 8 a.m.

This team of teachers and paras has given their all to support students this year. I'm so proud to be a part of this team! From supporting students and helping them succeed to giving each other advice and being there when someone needs it, this team demonstrates all of the traits of a Brave. When a student needs someone to talk with or a moment of quiet, one of these staff members will be there. When a staff member needs support or more hands are needed elsewhere in the school, these staff members are there. Forming bonds, building relationships, finding ways to help students learn, and checking in on teachers are just a few of the things they do well. They communicate and try to find ways to help students succeed. Whether tired or dealing with personal things, the students and the school have always been on their minds all year. I've seen all of this first hand. Thank you Mrs. Beville, Mrs. Eckstein, Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Gettys, Mrs. Bowers, and Ms. Lee for making this year great!

We are doing a World Cup Soccer STAAR review in 5th grade. Team Brazil has been going above and beyond EVERY day for their team and independent activities. They are participating, listening intently, and teaching/sharing strategies with each other. They are showing exceptional teamwork and sportsmanship. After winning a team game, Team Brazil chose to give away their prize to another team that had not won yet. They showed great generosity and kindness. They make me so proud of the great kids they are and the choices they make. I am so thankful to have them as my students! What great students we have at McClendon.
