Brave of the Week - March 24-28 - Kerry Jones
Our Brave of the Week is … Kerry Jones from Transportation! Ms. Emma Barnett from Dodson Elementary nominated Mr. Jones for his generosity, and her full nomination is copied below:
"Mr. Kerry Jones exemplifies generosity in every sense. During our 5th-grade field trip (8 AM–8:30 PM), he went above and beyond to ensure a safe, smooth, and enjoyable trip. He was kind, personable, and took the time to build connections.
During our conversation, I mentioned my daughter rides horses and competes in rodeos. When he picked us up that evening, he had a small horse-related gift for her—an incredibly thoughtful gesture that speaks volumes about his character. He doesn’t just do his job; he actively looks for ways to brighten someone’s day.
Even in my short time interacting with him, his kindness left a lasting impact. Anyone who has the opportunity to work with him or ride his bus is truly fortunate. His generosity and care embody what it means to be a Brave. I’m honored to nominate him!"
Thank you to Mrs. Barnett for the nomination, and congratulations to Mr. Jones on being the Brave of the Week!

Why are you nominating this person?
Mrs. Cummings always goes above and beyond but Thursday night her generosity could be seen by all! Mrs. Cummings helped piece together an amazing STEM night for McClendon families. She curated supplies and stations, coordinated with PTO and teachers, worked the event and stayed after to clean up all of the "fun." Mrs. Cummings is always giving of herself to make MES and Brave Nation the best it can be, but watching all of her hard work for this event made me want EVERYONE to see and appreciate her!

Why are you nominating this person?
Mrs. Rad is such a caring and passionate teacher. She has gone above and beyond to maintain a relationship with my daughter for years after she was her teacher. She invites her to her classroom for special lunches, checks on her anytime she thinks something might be bothering her, encourages her, and is always smiles and hugs each morning for all the kids when they arrive to school when holding the door. You can tell she truly cares for the kids and is so giving of herself to make sure they succeed and know they are cared for. Our family appreciates her so much!
