Brave of the Week Feb 20 - Brittani Atchley

Brave of the Week - February 17-21 - Brittani Atchley

The Brave of the Week is Brittani Atchley, one of our inclusion teachers at Roderick Elementary. In her nomination, Mrs. Patricia Peckham wrote that “There aren’t enough words to express how grateful we are for her. Mrs. Atchley is so passionate in her role at the school, and she has breathed so much confidence into my son in his capabilities. Mrs. Atchley is a shining light for CISD, and we are very lucky to have her!”

Thank you to Mrs. Peckham for the nomination, and congratulations to Mrs. Atchley for the honor!

Renda Songer deserves to be chosen as the *Brag on a Brave* weekly winner for her thoughtful and generous initiative in allowing her cosmetology students to give back to former teachers. By providing students with the opportunity to treat a past educator to a salon service, she not only enhances their hands-on learning experience but also fosters gratitude and appreciation for those who have made an impact in their lives. Why are you nominating this person?

Kelvin showed humility and wisdom on Feb. 12 at the football parent meeting with Coach Arteaga. At the end of the meeting, another student knocked over a drink and spilled it in the auditorium. Without missing a beat, Kelvin came over to a group of administrators and asked for paper towels so he could clean it up.

Kelvin cleaned up the mess quickly and professionally. Thank you for taking pride in your campus and doing the right thing!
