He cleaned up everyone’s mess with a big smile on his face the entire time, and his positive energy and enthusiasm was contagious! Why are you nominating this person?
On January 16, my car was notifying me on my commute into work, that my tire pressure in one of my tires was dropping, and dropping quickly. It was early, 6:30am, as I was entering Josephine. I called Transportation Director Terry Buse, he told me to come directly to the bus barn. He found a hole in my tire. No nail, or any other object - just a decent size hole, and you could hear the air. Mr. Buse asked Mr. Arnold for assistance. Without hesitation, and a smile on his face, he got on that cold ground and plugged my tire. Both Mr. Buse & Mr. Arnold showed the true Traits of a Brave and took care of another member of our CommUNITY! Thanks to both of them, and the entire Transportation Department for all they do for CommUNITY!

Why are you nominating this person?
One day before Christmas break, Pyper overheard a conversation Lily, a third grader at Roderick was having with a peer about her love of Powder Puff Girls. A few weeks passed and Pyper came to me to ask if she could give Lily a book she had at home. “I heard her say she loved Powder Puff Girls and I remembered I had a book at home I knew she would love and I wanted to give it to her!” Pyper gifted this book to Lily this week and Lily was so excited! She told Pyper, “This made my day! You filled my bucket, thank you!” It was an incredible interaction to witness. Pyper is an amazing student at Roderick who has a tender heart, compassion for others, is a friend to all, and one who gives generously. I am so proud to see Pyper be a light to others and exhibit our traits of a brave on a daily basis.

Why are you nominating this person?
Our Morning Car Duty and Arrival Crew has been more than Generous with their time giving up the comforts of warmth. Everyone who is on morning duty has stepped it up to BRAVE the cold and get our students in the building. Not a single person has complained about taking a shift outside to greet our wonderful students, all while keeping a smile on their faces and making sure our kiddo's get the morning greeting they deserve! I am so thankful for such a great bunch of people to work with!
