Growth

Community ISD has grown 270% in the last 20 years, from just 1,432 total students in 2005-06 to almost 5,400 students on April 24, 2025. Our four towns of Lavon, Copeville, Nevada, and Josephine have seen thousands of houses and dozens of businesses constructed in the last few years, and even more growth is predicted in the final portions of open land in Collin County.

As this growth continues, Community ISD is making a long-term plan to make sure we do what is best for all students - those currently enrolled in our campuses, and our future Braves. Documented below are the steps we've taken so far, questions we frequently get in presentations about growth, and a place to sign up for our Task Force for Growth. We also provided a link to the Long Range Facility Planning Committee, which helped Community ISD plan its 2022 bond.
