Six Admin Approved in June Board Meeting

2025-26 Administrator Changes

The CISD Board of Trustees, by unanimous vote, approved the following people for administrative positions for the 2025-26 school year.

 

Cedric Newton - Assistant Principal, Community Trails MS

Education:

  • M. Ed Special Education: Texas State University, August 2007
  • B.S. FCS Child Development: Southwest Texas State University, December 2001

Career:

  • Over 20 years of experience in education
  • Previously served as the Assistant Principal for Tyler ISD
  • Has taught special education for Plano ISD, Garland ISD and Hays ISD

 

Amber Swindle - ARD Administrator

Education:

  • Master of Education in Administration: Lamar University,  2018
  • Master of Leadership: Lamar University, 2010-2011
  • Bachelors in Early Childhood Development: Dallas Baptist University, 2004

Career:

  • Over 20 years of experience in education
  • Currently serving as the Ard Administrator for Rockwall ISD
  • Previously worked for Richardson ISD and Duncanville ISD

 

Alicia Young - Assistant Principal, Community HS

Education:

  • Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction: East Texas A&M University,  2017
  • Bachelor of Science in History & Political Science: Stephen F Austin University, 2001

Career:

  • Over 21 years of experience in education
  • Currently works an Adjunct Professor for Collin College and teaches history for Wylie ISD
  • Previously worked for CISD, Garland ISD, and Terrell ISD

 

Steven McBrayer - Dean of CTE, Community HS

Education:

  • Masters of Business in Administrative Leadership: Western Governors University,  2023
  • Bachelors in Criminology: University of Texas at Dallas, 2014

Career:

  • 6 years of experience in education
  • Currently serving as the Business Teacher for Wylie ISD
  • Previously worked for Garland ISD & Dallas ISD
  • Leadership experience with the Texas State Guard
     

 

Chris Brott - Associate Principal, Community Trails MS

Education:

  • Master of Science in Education Administration: East Texas State University,  2001
  • Bachelor of Science: Texas A&M University, 1999

Career:

  • Over 20 years of experience in education
  • Previously served as the Principal and Asst. Principal for Mesquite ISD
  • Military US Air Force Reserve 1993-1999

 

Kendi Womack - Assistant Principal, Ellis Elementary

Education:

  • Masters in Educational Administration: Lamar University,  2024
  • Bachelor of Science: Texas State University, 2018

Career:

  • 7 years of experience in public education
  • Currently serving as an Administrative Intern for Garland ISD
  • Previously worked for Terrell ISD and Idea Public Schools
