NEVADA, Texas - With the 2024-25 school year quickly approaching, Community ISD wanted to make sure that our parents/guardians, students, and staff are aware of a couple of changes in campus leadership. Starting on July 1, 2024, Mr. Robert Goff will become the principal of Community High School, and Mr. Carl Frietze will become the principal of Edge Middle School.
Mr. Goff is entering his third year in Brave Nation as a campus principal, spending the previous two school years as principal of Edge Middle School. He oversaw significant growth of the campus in his two years there, with campus enrollment growing from 868 on his first day to almost 1,100 at the end of 2023-24, and managed a campus split between two buildings for his entire time at Edge.
"My time at Edge Middle School has been filled with amazing memories and achievements," Mr. Goff said in a letter to Edge and CHS parents. "Together, we have built a vibrant, supportive community that I am incredibly proud of. From schedule pickup in 2023 to our awards ceremonies this last spring, we have shared so many special moments. Watching our students grow and succeed has been one of the greatest joys of my career. As I step into my new role at Community High School, I am excited to reunite with former students and parents, as well as build new lasting relationships with the staff, students, and families of CHS. Together, we will strive for excellence and create a positive, enriching environment for all."
Mr. Frietze is entering his fifth year in Brave Nation as a campus administrator, spending the previous four years as an assistant principal of Community High School. He helped open the building with Dr. Charles Ryan and Associate Principal Dabney Eiland, and has helped manage the fastest growing campus in the District, with growth from 693 students in August 2020 to 1,186 students at graduation this past May.
"I am humbled and overjoyed to be the new principal of Edge Middle School," said Mr. Frietze. "Over the years, I have worked with many of your older students at the high school, and I am so excited to now work with your middle school students. We worked hard to prepare students for life after high school, and now my focus will shift to working with middle school students to prepare them for success in high school. Mr. Goff has left some big shoes to fill, and I am proud to be given this opportunity."
