Ellis Students & Staff Participate in Girls on the Run 5K

Ellis Elementary's Girls on the Run club finished off their season with their 5k at Oak Point Park in Plano. Thanks to Ms. Fitzwater and Ms. Skidmore for getting our program started as our coaches!

"This was our first year in Girls on the Run, a nonprofit organization for girls in grades 3-5 whose mission is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running," said Ms. Fitzwater. "Our girls at Ellis have learned so much about friendships, healthy self image and how to let their star power shine and be themselves. The girls completed a 5k at the end of the season to celebrate their achievements. Ellis will be hosting Girls on the Run again in the fall, we are so excited!"

If you're interested in starting a club at your campus, please reach out to your elementary campus principal. This group is only open to 3rd through 5th grade female students.
