Community ISD Earns "B" Rating in 2026 State Accountability Results
Community ISD is proud to announce that the district has earned a 2026 accountability rating of "B" with an overall score of 80, an increase from last year's "C" rating and score of 76. This four-point gain reflects the dedication of our students, teachers, staff, families, and Board of Trustees, as well as the district's strategic focus on continuous improvement.
This year's improvement is especially meaningful because the Texas Education Agency implemented more rigorous accountability standards and updated STAAR cut scores, raising expectations for districts across the state. Despite these higher performance standards, Community ISD improved both its overall score and accountability rating, demonstrating meaningful academic progress for students.
Over the past several years, Community ISD has focused on building strong instructional systems that support student success.
The district expanded the use of targeted small-group intervention to provide students with timely, data-driven support and accelerate learning for those needing additional assistance. These interventions have been instrumental in helping close achievement gaps while ensuring students receive instruction tailored to their individual needs.At the same time, the district has remained committed to strengthening Tier I instruction, recognizing that excellent classroom teaching is the foundation for student achievement. Teachers and campus leaders have participated in professional learning focused on delivering rigorous, engaging, and standards-aligned instruction in every classroom.
The district has also been intentional about aligning people, roles, and responsibilities with areas of greatest need. By identifying the strengths and expertise of staff and strategically positioning talent where it can have the greatest impact, Community ISD has strengthened instructional leadership and support across the district. This focus on leveraging individual strengths, building effective teams, and aligning resources with student needs has been an important part of the district’s continuous improvement efforts.
To support this work, Community ISD completely rewrote its Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Handbook, creating a more consistent districtwide framework for identifying student needs, providing interventions, monitoring progress, and ensuring every student receives the appropriate level of support.
The district has also invested significant time and resources into strengthening curriculum. After a formal review process, Community ISD just launched a new K–12 mathematics curriculum and a new K–5 ELAR/SLAR curriculum this school year. These high-quality instructional materials are designed to deepen student understanding, strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills, and ensure greater alignment across grade levels.
Another major initiative launching this year is the implementation of district-developed Framework Lessons for all four core content areas from kindergarten through high school. Developed through the tremendous work of Community ISD's curriculum team, Instructional Coaches, and teachers, these lessons provide teachers with high-quality, standards-aligned instructional resources that promote consistency, rigor, and engaging learning experiences across every campus. This work represents countless hours of collaboration and reflects the district's commitment to equipping every teacher with the tools needed to maximize student success.

We have worked intentionally to align our people, resources, and instructional systems around student needs and to leverage the strengths of our staff where they can have the greatest impact.
From strengthening Tier I instruction and expanding interventions to adopting new curriculum and developing district framework lessons, we have focused on building systems that will continue to improve student outcomes for years to come. While we celebrate this accomplishment, we know our work is not finished, and we remain committed to continuous growth."As Community ISD looks ahead, district leaders remain focused on implementing these new instructional resources with fidelity, supporting teachers through ongoing professional learning, and continuing to use student data to drive instructional decisions. Together, these efforts will help ensure every student is prepared for success in college, career, and life.
