Clifton Transitioning to New Role

Johnathan Clifton -Truancy Prevention Officer, Parent Liaison, and Community Outreach

NEVADA, Texas — Community Independent School District is proud to announce that Mr. Johnathan Clifton will be transitioning into a new position within Brave Nation as the Truancy Prevention Officer, Parent Liaison, and Community Outreach. This move is a joint decision made by both Mr. Clifton and the District, and reflects a shared belief in the importance of deepening connections with families and communities across Community ISD.

In his new role, Mr. Clifton will work closely with students and parents/guardians across all campuses, focusing on relationship building, family engagement, and supporting efforts to resolve attendance-related challenges.

“I am truly excited to communicate that I will be transitioning to another role in Community ISD that will allow me the opportunity to continue to not only work with the staff, students, and families of NeSmith, but also to work with these amazing stakeholders across our District,” said Mr. Clifton in an email to NeSmith Elementary staff (available here in full). “My new role will allow me to serve in a Community Liaison/ Community Outreach capacity while also serving families whose students may be having some attendance/truancy issues. I will be working directly with the Office of Student Services, and I am excited about this great opportunity! I look forward to continuing to work with each of you as we meet the needs of all students in CISD!”

Both Mr. Clifton and Community ISD are enthusiastic about this new opportunity, and confident that his experience and passion will help further strengthen family-school partnerships across Brave Nation. His transition into this role comes at a pivotal time for the District as it continues to grow rapidly and expand services for students and families. Assisting families in truancy prevention will be an integral role in Mr. Clifton’s duties.

The District would also like to reassure the students, staff, and families of NeSmith Elementary that the search for the campus’s next leader will begin immediately. Community ISD is committed to identifying a dynamic and passionate educator who will build upon the strong foundation Mr. Clifton helped to establish.

We thank the NeSmith community for their ongoing support and dedication, and we look forward to announcing the next principal in the near future.
