CISD Staff Earn Emergency Responder Certifications
NEVADA, Texas - 12 Community Independent School District staff members recently completed a 70-hour course to become certified as Emergency Medical Responders. This group includes all 10 CISD Police Department officers, as well as Director of Health Services Mallory Scott and Sandy Toon, Roderick Elementary's school nurse.
"In order to provide the Community ISD students and staff with the most rapid medical response possible, [we] recently completed certification as Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs)," said Chief of Police Scotty Morrison. "An EMR certification is one step below becoming Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and represents a significant achievement for the officers, nurses, and the students and staff they support. A very special thank you to Sachse Fire and Rescue for providing the instruction and support necessary to achieve this skill!"
