NEVADA, Texas - Community Independent School District is proud to announce that Dr. Amber Hope will be the next principal of Community High School, following the departure of Mr. Robert Goff to Allen ISD's Lowery Freshman Center. Community ISD is confident that Dr. Hope’s proven track record of leadership and consistent success will serve CHS well as it continues to grow and evolve.
“Opening CTMS and creating the dream team is something that will be forever etched in my heart,” said Dr. Hope. “I truly thank the staff, students, parents, and community members for the outpouring involvement and support which has made this home so special. I am excited to continue to serve Community ISD in this new capacity. Let's go BRAVES!”
Dr. Hope is currently completing her second year in Brave Nation, both of which have come as the first principal in the history of CTMS. In her time at that campus, CTMS has seen growth in population and academic performance, including an average increase of 14% from 2025 STAAR scores to 2026 Benchmark data. Before her time at CTMS, Dr. Hope served in Garland ISD, where she most recently served as the Secondary Director of Integrated Studies. She has 20 years of experience in education, including time as a principal, assistant principal, instructional design facilitator, teacher, and coach. She has a Doctorate and a Bachelor’s from East Texas A&M University, and a Master's from Concordia University.
As the District desires to continue the great progress made at CTMS, the current Associate Principal of that campus, Mr. Chris Brott, will be reassigned to the Principal position at Community Trails.
“It is an honor to have been chosen to take over the reins to continue to Blaze a Trail of Excellence alongside all the dedicated staff members, students, and parents,” said Mr. Brott.
Mr. Brott was approved by a unanimous vote of the CISD Board of Trustees as the Associate Principal of Community Trails Middle School on June 23, 2025. He joined Brave Nation with 25 years of experience in education, having served most recently as a principal and assistant principal in Mesquite ISD. He served as a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 1993 to 1999, and holds a Bachelor's of Science from Texas A&M and a Master's of Science in Education Administration from East Texas A&M.
“The leaders we have chosen to take over at Community High School and Community Trails Middle School are phenomenal people that are dedicated to serving the students, families, and staff of Brave Nation,” said Dr. Tonya Knowlton, Superintendent of Schools. “I look forward to seeing their campuses continue to thrive in the years to come. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Mr. Goff, and I wish him the best as he moves forward with Allen ISD.”
Mr. Goff departs Brave Nation after serving for four years as a principal at Leland Edge Middle School (2022-23 and 2023-24), and Community HS (2024-25 and 2025-26). He oversaw significant growth at both campuses, managed a split campus his entire time at Edge, and has guided CHS through two years of temporary buildings and construction impacts.
“I have loved my time in CISD. Whether it was a Friday night football game, kinderwalk, a banquet, or an end of the year party, Community ISD has a way of making people feel connected and valued,” Mr. Goff shared when asked about his time in Brave Nation.
Community ISD would like to thank Mr. Goff for his years of service to Brave Nation, and wishes him the best of luck as an Eagle. The District is confident that his former campus, Community High School, will continue to move forward and grow with Dr. Hope at the helm, and that Mr. Brott will make a lasting positive impact as the leader of CTMS.
These changes will be effective at the end of the 2025-26 school year, with Dr. Hope and Mr. Brott working through the summer to prepare their respective campuses for the coming year.
