Alumni Wins UT Student Body Race
Hudson Thomas, Community High School Class of 2022, has been elected as the Student Government president of the University of Texas for the 2025-26 school year.
Thomas, a Plan II, Government and History junior, and his vice president Thierry Chu, won against five other alliances, by collecting 4,005 votes. The runner-ups Grayson Oliver and Elizabeth Tomoloju received 1,949.
“Just to get to this opportunity, I think is a testament to how great our university is, and how great the students here are to entrust people like Thierry and myself to run for this position,” Thomas told The Daily Texan, the University of Texas's student newspaper. “It’s just mind blowing. It really is. That we’ve come all this way, and it’s completely because of the students who have helped us and our friends.”
Thomas graduated from Community High School in May 2022 ranked third overall in that year's graduating class, and was named to the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth's 2022 Class of "20 Under 20" during his time as a Brave.
Congratulations to Mr. Thomas, his running mate, and his family on this accomplishment! If you have a great alumni story to share with us, please reach out to info@communityisd.org!
