Regina Forthman served in Community ISD from August 14, 1984 until her retirement in December 2005. The 21-year Brave Nation veteran served in many roles across the District in that time, starting as the Community Middle School secretary. She spent two years in that role before becoming the Community Education Director in 1986, and served as the Education Director and Administrative Secretary for the Superintendent & Board of Trustees from 1987 to 2005.
After retirement, Mrs. Forthman continued to serve CISD as the coordinator of the District's senior citizen programs, including Community Quilters and the Good Neighbor Luncheon. Mrs. Forthman discovered a national non-profit called Project Linus, and partnered with the organization in December 2008. The Community Quilters now donate approximately 500 blankets each month to area hospitals, shelters, social service agencies, and emergency services. They have donated 88,217 blankets since the Project Linus chapter began in November 2004.
Mrs. Forthman has served as the Project Linus chapter coordinator for Collin, Grayson, and Rockwall Counties since April 2017.
