SEPTEMBER 12-16, 2022
Our #BraveNation75 celebrations continue in September with the 75th Anniversary Homecoming Week! This year's homecoming theme is "Braves Through the Decades," which focuses on the history and traditions of Community ISD since Community Rural High School opened on July 28, 1947. Each day will provide a different dress-up theme for our students and staff, as long as they are compliant with the existing CISD dress code.
Dress-Up Themes for the Week:
- Monday - 40s and 50s
- Tuesday - 60s and 70s
- Wednesday - 80s and 90s
- Thursday - 2000s and 2010s
- Friday - EXTREME BLUE AND GOLD - wear Blue and Gold from Head to Toe
CISD's Communications Office will award one student and one staff member each day with a special prize for the best dress-up day participation!
Here's a full schedule for Homecoming:
- Monday, September 12 - Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally - 7-9 pm
- Friday, September 12 - Homecoming Volleyball Game - CHS Competition Gym - vs. Farmersville - 4 pm
- Friday, September 16 - Historical Marker Unveiling - Ellis Education Center - 5 pm
- Friday, September 16 - Homecoming Football Game - Braves Stadium - vs. Farmersville - 7:30 pm
PARADE DETAILS:
Every float can be decorated for a different decade that CISD has been open - the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, or for present day - Extreme Blue and Gold! The parade will run through the Nevada campuses of Community ISD, staying on District property the entire time and off of the public roads. This allows for better traffic management, and a safer parade route. The map below highlights the route the parade will take, and where Braves fans can set up their lawn chairs. The parade will start at 7 PM and will be immediately followed by a community wide pep rally and fireworks show in Braves Stadium. The event should conclude by approximately 9 PM.
