Professional Development in Community ISD
Community ISD is dedicated to the professional growth of our staff members and shares the responsibility for learning by empowering teachers through support and guidance to ensure the success of all students.
Professional Development Requirements
Annually, all CISD certified instructional professional staff members are required to obtain 30 credit hours based on the TPACK model. TEA requires that all standard teacher certifications require 150 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) over a 5 year period. Based on that requirement, teachers will meet that criterion by completing the Community ISD Professional Development Plan. In order to achieve at least a “Developing” rating on Dimension 4.3 of the Texas Teacher evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) this requirement must be completed. This requirement is in addition to state-mandated trainings annually, bi-annually or online compliance training.
