Mr. John Wilshire M.ED.

I am a special education teacher at NeSmith Elementary school.  This is my 5th year in Community ISD.  I spent 4 years at McClendon in Special Education.  I do Inclusion for Kindergarten through 5th-grade students in math, ELAR, science, and social studies.  This is my 8th year in education.  This will be my 5th year teaching special education.  I have also served as Life Skills aide for a year and a resource room aide for a year in Wylie ISD, as well as a substitute teacher for a year in three school districts.

My desire to become a teacher began when I was in 7th grade.  At that time, I was diagnosed with dyslexia and my mother told me that I would not amount to anything in this world but a bum on the street.  I was told by my dad that I would be something I just had to work hard at it.  Since that time I wanted to show students that it does not matter what disability you have, you can still be whatever you want to be.

I am currently married to my best friend and companion for the last 11 years.  I could not go a day without my loving wife Brenda.  We live in Wylie with our three beautiful daughters Jewel (9), Braelyn (9), and Everleigh (Birdie) (7).  I am so proud to call the Brave Nation my educational home.  I love coming here and working with the kids.  They make every day an adventure.
