On Tuesday, October 15, 2019, the Community ISD Education Foundation approved Mrs. Courtney McCuistion as the Foundation's first Executive Director.
Mrs. McCuistion will work on a part-time basis to support the mission of the Foundation by building community awareness and support for CEF programs and events. She will also oversee fundraising efforts and coordinate volunteer support for the Foundation.
Mrs. McCuistion has live in Community ISD since 2005 and is an actively engaged parent of two Community High School Braves.

McClendon and NeSmith Gifted and Talented classes were awarded a CISD Education Foundation grant last spring to purchase puzzles from the You Can Do The Cube program. Using the STEM-approved project, GT students in 1st - 5th grades were able to use the six colors from 100 Rubik's Cubes to create an image of Chief Sitting Bull. It was exciting to see the students celebrate the success of teamwork while learning about algorithms and pixels.
CISD Gifted and Talented Specialist Tonya Kennedy says the students are looking forward to building additional images using this non-traditional, yet challenging atmosphere for learning. Mrs. Kennedy also wanted to send a very special thank you to the CISD Education Foundation, "I am so grateful that the Community ISD Education Foundation awarded us the grant funds to provide such a thought-provoking activity."
Traditions t-shirts were presented to all Seniors, early Graduates and the Kindergarten classes at McClendon and NeSmith on Thursday, November 29, 2018.
The Traditions Tee Shirt was established in 2014 as a way to celebrate our seniors and provide an opportunity for them to share what it means to be a Brave with the kindergartners as they begin their education journey.
Each Fall the Community ISD Education Foundation purchases a t-shirt personalized with the class graduation year as a gift for every student in kindergarten and 12th grade.

CEF Mission Statement
CISD Education Foundation Mission Statement:
"Working Together to Support Education and Dreams in Community Independent School District."
The Community ISD Education Foundation is a charitable organization governed by a Board of Directors representing a cross-section of citizens who are dedicated to education and want to enhance the education of all students in Community Independent School District. It has a 501(c)3 status.
The Foundation was established to solicit, manage, and distribute funds for enrichment purposes in a program areas not otherwise funded by the District. Funding is supplemental and does not replace or alter use of tax-based revenue.
In the last 10 years, the Foundation has given over $90,000 in grants to the District. Last year we provided five $1,000 scholarships to CHS seniors. We hope to be able to expand the scholarship offerings each year.Follow us on Facebook
