Alicia Young was elected to Place 2 in May 2017. She is a 1997 graduate of Community High School. Mrs. Young entered the education field in 1999 as a substitute teacher and in 2004 became a certified teacher. She previously taught at both Edge Middle School and Community High School. She currently teaches AP World History for a local school district.
Mrs. Young and her husband, Matthew, have been married since 2000 and they have two wonderful boys, Travis and Trevor.
Her goal as a member of the CISD Board of Trustees is to address the needs of a growing district, promote academic and extra-curricular programs that are designed to bring about excellence for all students, and provide our staff with the time and resources needed to develop individualized educational opportunities within their classrooms. She is also passionate about ensuring open lines of communication to maintain a positive relationship between the district, parents, and the community.
