2007-2008 Community Independent School District School Bus Transportation

 

Students being transported in school-owned vehicles shall comply with the student code of conduct. Any student who fails to comply with that code or established rules of conduct while on school transportation may be denied transportation services and shall be subjected to disciplinary action.

Don’t lose your riding privileges! Follow these rules.

          1. Observe the same conduct as in the classroom.

          2. Be courteous, use no profane language.

          3. Do not eat or drink on the bus.

          4. Keep the bus clean.

          5. Cooperate with the driver.

          6. Do not use any tobacco products.

          7. Do not be destructive.

          8. Stay in your seat facing forward.

          9. Keep head, hands and feet inside the bus.

        10. The bus driver is authorized to assign seats.

 

The following procedures shall be followed when a discipline concern arises on a bus serving a regular route or an extracurricular activity.

1st Offense - A Bus Discipline Report will be completed by the driver. The driver will conduct a conference with the student to discuss the violation.

The pink copy goes to the parent.
The yellow copy goes to the office.
The driver keeps the white copy.

2nd Offense - A Bus Discipline Report will be completed by the driver. The assistant principal will hold a conference with the student and the parent will be notified.

3rd Offense - A Bus Discipline Report will be completed by the driver. The assistant principal will contact the parent. The third offense could result in disciplinary action and/or suspension of riding privileges for up to three days.

4th Offense - A Bus Discipline Report will be completed by the driver. The offense may require a parent/driver/assistant principal conference. The fourth offense also could result in suspension of riding privileges for up to five days.

5th Offense - Disciplinary action by the Director of Transportation and assistant principal may be taken. The student may be suspended from bus riding privileges for up to the remainder of the school year.

Note: Any major infraction of the rules will be treated as a 5th offense!

 

A signed copy of this form must be on file prior to any use of school owned transportation. Should the form not be returned, transportation privileges may be revoked. This includes field trips and athletic events.
