COMMUNITY ISD TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT
**Information to be used by Community ISD staff only**
Welcome to the Technology Department link. We are located in the Middle School in rooms 13 & 14. This is the main location for all the district's servers. We are very excited about the new phone system and other technology that we have integrated summer 2007.

Use the links at the left to gather information and send request forms to our department. Please follow all the steps below in regards to maintenance and printer cartridge requests.

Repairs: The first step that you take if you feel that you have a problem with your technology components is to contact your campus technician. Elementary- Dawn Gage (gaged@communityisd.org), Middle School - Melissa Massey (masseym@communityisd.org), High School- Mary Long (longm@communityisd.org) These staff members have a wealth of technology knowledge and can usually take care of troubleshooting your problems. If they are unable to fix the issue then they will tell you to submit a maintenance request. Please do not stop Mr. Coleman in the hall or send him an email  to ask him to troubleshoot a repair that has not had a maintenance request submitted. We only have one technician for all of the district's technology equipment and he will respond to your request in a timely manner.

Printer Cartridge Request: All printer cartridges are obtained through the technology department. You will need to fill out the form on the left menu and a cartridge will be sent to you through the district mail. Mass printing should not be done on your personal printer, but should be sent to the campus copier. The driver for that copier was loaded on your computer summer 2007. Please do not request a cartridge until you know that your cartridge is empty. Please do not send multiple requests. If we are temporarily out of a cartridge then one will be sent to you as soon as the shipment comes in.

Software Updates: Periodically you will be sent an email with complete directions for installation. It is your responsibility (as outlined on your signed Acceptable Use Policy) to install these updates in a timely manner. If you have questions/problems regarding that install then you should contact your campus technology contact.

Star Chart: Every year we have a Texas Education Agency mandatory Star Chart submission. As soon as I get information about the submission dates I will send out an email with an overview and link. This submission has a mandatory deadline that all staff members must adhere to.

Inventory: Normally inventory submissions are made at the end of the year. Starting 2007-2008, all submissions will be made in the month of October. This submission has a mandatory deadline that all staff members must adhere to.

Computer Care & Responsibilities: You are responsible for all the technology equipment in your office/classroom. Please be sure to keep all equipment dust free and clear of clutter. No equipment should
be covered (ex. dust cover) while turned on as this can be a fire hazzard. I have canned air that can be sent to you upon request.
