Carylene McClendon Elementary officially opened its doors to students on the first day of school, August 13, 1998. This campus serves grades Pre-K through 4th. The campus is located at 601 FM.1138 North. New construction that was completed in August 2001 expanded this campus to a maximum capacity of 650 students. The campus has 27 general classrooms, 2 resource rooms, a basic skills classroom, and 8 self-contained kindergarten classrooms with individual restrooms. The building also includes three computer labs, a music classroom, gymnasium, cafeteria, library/media center, and administration office areas. All classrooms, office areas, and the library media center are connected to a district-wide computer network with Internet access through 2 T-1 line connections.
A 2000-2001 technology grant provided a networked computer and printer, for student use, in each classroom in grades 1st through 3rd. The library/media center has an automated Follett Library System.

The Community Independent School District operates 3 modern campuses:

Community Middle School was officially established as a separate campus with the beginning of the 1983-1984 school year for grades 5th through 8th. Today, with the opening of the Intermediate Campus in the fall of 1999, it serves grades 6th through 8th. There are 15 regular classrooms, 2 multi-media computer labs, 1 reading and math enhancement lab, a new state-of-the-art band hall, an art classroom, gymnasium, library/media center, cafeteria, 2 resource classrooms, 1 ED classroom, and 1 Life Skills classroom. All classrooms, the library/media center, and the administration offices have networked computers with Internet access through 2 T-1 line connections. A 2000-2001 technology grant provided each classroom with a networked computer and printer for student use. A 2002-2003 technology grant provided a mobile Videoconference unit that can travel throughout the campus. The library has a Follet automated library system.
Community High School was built in 1987 and serves grades 9th through 12th. In December 1998, the district was notified that an $80,000.00 grant had been awarded. Implementation of the objectives of this grant were set forth in March of 1999. At that time there was one networked computer in each classroom for staff use only. This grant added a high-speed networked computer and printer for Internet access and student use in each classroom. It also added additional computers to the library. The District updated the network at the same time, adding Cisco switches to make the network run more efficiently. In the spring/summer of 2001 there was a major addition to the high school, as well as the addition of a state-of-the-art gymnasium, football stadium (with an all weather track) and tennis courts. The district also built a new AG-project center to house all of the student's livestock projects. The UIL  alignment for 2002-2003 changed Community ISD to a Conference 3A, District 10. A Region  X Education Service Center grant added a mobile Videoconference Unit that can travel to any classroom on campus. All classrooms, the library/media center, and the administration offices have networked computers with Internet access through 2 T-1 line connections. The library has a Follet automated library system.
