Community Middle School

Fifth grade science students had a choice of what they wanted to research:  atoms, volcanoes, or the solar system.  They were to create a display board along with a model.  The winners were:

Open House Draws Crowd

Sixth grade students built a case from toothpicks to hold an egg and withstand being dropped from 20 feet.  The winners were:

Seventh grade built skyscrapers from 50 straws with a height of 50 centimeters and withstand a small earthquake.  The winners were:

Eighth grade students built a suspension bridge from pop sicle sticks.  The winners were:

GT Reads

Mrs. Roderick’s kindergarten class came to the middle school on Wednesday, April 23.  The fifth and sixth grade Gifted and Talented students read with the younger students as a service learning project.  The even took place in the courtyard at the middle school.

In the first semester of the school year, the library raised $253 in Box Tops for Education!  Keep clipping and saving—another shipment of Box Tops will be sent in the summer in hopes of another big check in the fall.  Thanks to all who have contributed!
