In February 1917, President Woodrow Wilson signed  a national
vocational education act into law. The act later created state-run programs
of vocational education. This establishment of vocational education
led to the creation of Future Homemakers of America.  

FHA was originally founded in 1945 in Chicago

FHA turned into FCCLA in the Summer of 1999
