Mrs. Katelyn Riggins
I am Katelyn Riggins and I am entering my sixth year at Community ISD. I started my journey at CISD at McClendon, where I taught 3rd grade self contained for 3 years. I currently teach Third Grade Math and Science at NeSmith Elementary.
My purpose and why I do what I do is that moment when students reach mastery on a concept based on their own drive to suceed, from a hands on activity, or a lesson they recall. I believe that every student is capable and it is my passion to support students in reaching their potiential. I believe in student goal setting based on thier individual needs with tailored instructions to allow students to reach their potiential. In my classroom we follow a guided Math format and students are working on their own individual needs. Guided Math creates a constantly active classroom for engaging activities that rotate every twenty minutes. I am passionate about Guided Math and keeping my students actively engaged. Science is going to be filled with engaging lessons and labs to become third grade Scientists.
Welcome to my classroom! I hope to help your child grow intellectually and emotionally. Together we can do this!
If you need to reach me, my planning period is Monday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 10:45-11:30.
