Ms. Shannon Minica

Hi! My name is Ms. Shannon Minica and I teach Visual Art at Community High School.  I have been with Community ISD for 28 years!  I have taught Secondary Art for 30 years.  I have a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in Studio Arts with a specialization in Drawing and Painting, from UMHB.  I teach Art I, Art II: Painting, Art III/IV: Drawing/Painting. I am a practicing Artist, meaning I draw, paint, etc.. with the intent to sell to individuals who wish to purchase my work. I love working with teenagers who have an interest in art and those who want to learn how to create art, but don't quite know how to or don't think they can. I want my students to find their visual voice, if you will.  I personally enjoy drawing, painting, pyrography, typography, and mosaics.  I am a huge dog-lover, I have four myself. All four of them are dachshunds. I am one of four children and my mother loves me more than the others. I have two brothers, I am their favorite sister and I have one sister, and again I am her favorite sister.

My conference period; Is on A Days (Tues./Thurs) at 10:00-10:45 A.M.  The best way to contact me is via email, which I will be able to answer at anytime;  minicas@communityisd.org
